| | this year i'm taking an alphabetical look at early 1990's rave | |
| | music: old skool hardcore and jungle plus cheesy top-40 dance! | |

| | as usual today's a-z programme was quite a mixed bag, starting | |
| | with a wicked jungly tune from noise factory and continuing in | |
| | a similar style with nookie (with the opening track from the b | |
| | side of my recent old skool mixtape - plug!). there was a fair | |
| | amount of classic vocal charty choonage too with several songs | |
| | from oceanic (including the massive 'insanity' which peaked at | |
| | #3 in the uk top-40), from nomad (whose 'devotion' topped that | |
| | by getting to #2) and from n-trance (with 'set you free' which | |
| | also reached #2 when it was remixed in '95). i also played two | |
| | top cuts from nu-matic on the xl label, including the vivaldi- | |
| | sampling 'spring in my step', and an absolute classic from nrg | |
| | not to be confused with the baby d tune i played in september! | |
