| | in 1989 ed handley, andy turner and ken downie started writing | |
| | music together under various names collectively known as black | |
| | dog productions. they produced an assortment of chilled tracks | |
| | and light trance including their classic 'bytes' album on warp | |
| | in 1992. they also arranged various remixes, including several | |
| | for björk. they split up in 1995 but handley & turner continue | |
| | to work as plaid and downie calls himself the black dog. a new | |
| | triple-cd album of rare, classic plaid tracks called 'trainer' | |
| | is due to be released on warp records at the end of the month. | |
