| | nightmares on wax is the longest running artist on warp giving | |
| | the label its 2nd and 133rd releases and seven in between! the | |
| | band (?) consists of many occasional collaborating artists but | |
| | was founded in 1988 by kevin (boywonder) harper and george (dj | |
| | e.a.s.e.) evelyn although harper left after their first album. | |
| | today's show featured tracks from the past eleven years of the | |
| | nightmares on wax, characterising their (his?) typically funky | |
| | and mellow style; these included two versions of the trademark | |
| | tune 'nights interlude' ('les nuits') which is the first track | |
| | on all three n.o.w. albums on warp ('a word of science' ('91), | |
| | 'smokers delight' ('95) and 'carboot soul' ('99)) and is based | |
| | on an old quincy jones song entitled 'summer in the city'. the | |
