| | internal was formed in 1992 as an intelligent techno sub-label | |
| | of huge dance imprint ffrr and is probably best known as being | |
| | home to orbital between '92 and '96. it's therefore especially | |
| | apt that i started today's show with a track from the radiccio | |
| | e.p. (by orbital) - which was the first single on internal and | |
| | includes one of the hartnoll brothers' most popular songs, the | |
| | timeless 'halcyon'. the programme also featured other tunes by | |
| | orbital (and the underworld remix of 'lush 3') and some of the | |
| | other bands on internal - such as mark gage's vapourspace pro- | |
| | ject and, oddly, zero b with their rave classic 'lock up'. the | |
| | label's first album (and second single, for that matter) was a | |
| | collection of remixes of yellow magic orchestra tracks by many | |
| | big dance acts from that era (e.g. the shamen, 808 state, lfo, | |
| | the orb, etc) so i played two of my favourites from there too! | |
